Who We Are

“Gwangju Trauma Center is

a healing center
for survivors of state violence
and torture and their families.”

The massacre of civilians, suspicious deaths, torture, violence and cases of missing people have been occuring since the Japanese colonization, under rule of authoritarianism. Investigations show that over 30 million people who experienced state violence direct or indirect, are suffering from after effects until today. Gwangju Trauma Center was founded in 2012 to provide individuals and their families who have been traumatized by state violence with treatment and healing.
