Who We Are

“Gwangju Trauma Center is

a healing center
for survivors of state violence
and torture and their families.”

Massacre of civilians, suspicious deaths, torture, violence and missing have been occurred from colonized by Japan and to under rule of authoritarianism in the Korea society. It is investigated that over 30 million people who experienced state violence in direct or indirect ways have been suffer from aftereffect even until now. Gwangju Trauma Center was founded in 2012 to provide individuals and their families who have been traumatized by state violence with treatment and healing.
